House No. 50 An Act to unite the Boston and Portland Rail-road Corporation and the Boston and Maine Rail-road Company, 1841. The stockholders of
each company would be stockholders of the other company, now to be one corporation called the Boston and Maine Rail-road Company, chartered in New
Hampshire. At least one director would be from Massachusetts and the Governor of each state would appoint one director each. The parts of the railroad
in Massachusetts had to abide by Massachusetts laws. New Hampshire had to pass a similar law for this to take effect. (Digitized from a microfilm
