Joint Special Comm. on Petition of Boston concerning the Rainsford Island Hospital. Report, 1841
SEE ALSO 53394 House No. 47 A Joint Special Committee considered the situation on Rainsford Island, a quarantine hospital. The state owned the
island, the big hospital, and the keeper's house; Boston owned the smaller hospital, the storehouses, and the wharves. The Committee suggested granting
it all to Boston. An Act in relation to Rainsford Island in the Harbour [sic] of Boston, 1841. The use of the island and everything on it was
granted to Boston, with the proviso that the state could ask for it back. Boston would not need to file an expense report with the state. (Digitized from
