|
|
Senate No. 38 In February 1841, the Committee on Rail-roads and Canals reported: An Act to provide farther [sic] security to passengers at rail-road crossings, 1841. Rail-roads could use the Nicholson alarm signal at crossings if the local selectmen were agreeable and could replace earlier gates with the signal. If a local jurisdiction asked for protection, the rail-road had to respond. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
