Senate No. 36 On February 26, 1841, the Committee on Banks and Banking reported: An Act in addition to an act authorizing banks to surrender their
charters, 1841. Shareholders had to receive thirty days notice of any meeting called to give up a charter. The vote to do so must be a majority.
