Senate No. 32 In February, the Committee on Parishes and Religious Societies, in response to a directive, submitted An Act concerning cemeteries,
1841. Any group of ten or more could incorporate under Chapter 44 of the Revised Statutes to establish a cemetery. The group could hold real estate
for the purpose and make rules for burials and markers. There were fines for trespass and vandalism. The land would not be taxed. (Digitized from a
