Senate No. 23 On February 9, 1841, the Committee on the Militia reported a bill: An Act concerning the militia, 1841. The militia was defined,
allowing only 64 men per company. The commanding officer was to keep records of everyone's activity, ultimately so the men could be paid. If he failed
to do so, he could be fined and his men would not be paid. There were directions for sending the records forward. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
