Joint Special Comm. on the Width of the Felloes of Wheels. Report, 1841
Senate No. 13 A Joint Special Committee on the felloes of wheels reported that damage to highways required new rules about the width of wheels.
An Act in relation to the use of highways, 1841. Certain loads needed wheels 4" wide, and as the loads increased, so did the width of the wheel.
There were fines for failure to comply. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
Title:   Ordered, that Messrs. Washburn and Adams be a committee, to be joined on the part of the House, to examine and report upon the expediency of legislating upon the subject of regulating the width of the felloes of wagons used for the transportation of merchandise upon the highways of the commonwealth.
