Senate No. 6 On January 15, 1841, the Committee on the Judiciary, in response to an order, reported a bill: An Act in relation to gaming, 1841. If games for money were played on unlicensed premises, the owner of the premises would be fined. Mr. Bates submitted a longer version that tried to cover every eventuality. Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire, what alterations, if any are necessary, in the language of the 17th section of the 50th Chapter of the revised statutes, in order to the more effectual suppression of gaming houses.
