Joint Select Comm. on Suppression of Intemperance. Resolve, 1840
|
|
House No. 36 Nineteen people formed a committee to write a bill for the suppression of intemperance. Sometime in February, the group issued a report, saying they could not agree on the language of a bill. There was a Minority Report signed by four men who proposed a Resolve allowing people properly certified to sell wine and spirits to be drunk elsewhere, with different rules for inns and taverns. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
