House. Comm. on Preservation of Colony Records. Report, 1840
House No. 27 On February 5, 1840, a three man committee on the preservation of the colonial records reported that one volume had been faithfully
transcribed. The other three books were in terrible shape--the best thing would be to print them, but there was no money for that. The copy in the
public library had many errors. The writer described the contents of the volumes and waxed eloquent over their value. (Digitized from a microfilm copy
of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
Title:   Ordered, that Messrs. Leach, of Boston, Durfee, of Fall River, Nelson, of Plymouth, be a committee to consider and report what measures are necessary to be adopted for the preservation of the first four volumes of the colony records, now deposited in the library of the General Court.
