Senate. Select Comm. on the State Map. Report, 1840
|
|
Senate No. 49 In January, a three man committee asked about the status of the state map. In March 1840, the men said the surveyor's report had been received. Over $51,000 had been spent on the map so far. Some of the engraving will begin in three months in Boston and the entire project should be completed within the year. It will cost about $4,000 to engrave 6,000 maps and each map will sell for $3.58. Resolve: The Treasurer will provide $5,500 to complete the map. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
