Senate No. 13 On January 30, 1840, the Committee on the Judiciary reported An Act concerning the powers of trustees, 1840. The Justices of the
Supreme Judicial Court were authorized to empower any trustee of real estate to repair, remove or erect buildings on a subject property. The Court had
to be satisfied the project was worth doing and protected the rights of any associated women or minors. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
