Three men and their associates were incorporated as above, subject to Chapter 44 of the Revised Statutes. The company was authorized to construct a mill dam in a specific location, including a lock to serve the Middlesex Canal. It could collect various fees. If a road were constructed on top of the dam, it was to be a free public highway. The company would buy part of its land from the Commonwealth and the Governor had to approve the plans for construction. The company could organize with 300-600 shares of $500 each. The dam had to be completed by January 1, 1840. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
