SEE ALSO 52730 House No. 34 A special committee of three men reported a bill: An Act concerning hawkers, pedlars, and petty chapmen, 1836. Any
salesman without a license for the area he was in was subject to a fine, unless he was peddling goods of his own manufacture, but not a list of
forbidden items, including playing cards. Any jurisdiction could license the salesman if the person lived in the Commonwealth and was of good moral
character. He had to have his name in large letters on his conveyance. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of
