SEE ALSO 52727, 52743 House No. 22 An Act for the encouragement of the culture of silk, 1836. For every ten pounds of silk cocoons, with the technique for weighing defined, the owner would receive $1. Another $1 would be paid for every pound of silk reeled and thrown. A local Justice of the Peace had to attest to the accuracy of claims. The act would be in force in thirty days and continue for ten years.
