Senate. Comm. on Railways and Canals. Act to incorporate the Pittsfield and West Stockbridge Rail-road Company, 1836
|
|
Senate No. 84 On April 5, 1836, the Committee on Railways and Canals reported a bill: An Act to incorporate the Pittsfield & West Stockbridge Rail-road Company, 1836. Three men and their associates were incorporated as above, subject to Chapters 39 and 44 of the Revised Statutes, to lay out and construct a railroad from Pittsfield to West Stockbridge on the listed route. The company's capital stock was not to exceed $300,000, sold in $100 shares. The Legislature could adjust tolls after four years of operation. There were several caveats about the organization of the company. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
