Senate No. 81 The Committee on the Judiciary reported: An Act concerning the County Commissioners, 1836. When the County Commissioners were asked
to go to a site to assess damages, etc., they first had to be assured their expenses would be paid. Such expenses would be recorded in the report
issued by the Commissioners. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
Title:   Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary, be instructed to inquire whether any, and if any, what alterations are necessary in the laws, concerning the compensation of county commissioners, when called out to estimate damages, and for other purposes by individuals and corporations.
