Senate. Special Comm. to Incorporate the Fall River Whaling Company. Act to incorporate the Fall River Whaling Company, 1836
Senate No.72 On March 26, 1836, a special committee reported a new draft of a bill: An Act to incorporate the Fall River Whaling Company, 1836.
Three men and their associates were incorporated as above to obtain and process whale oil, subject to Chapter 44 of the Revised Statutes. The
corporation could hold real estate not exceeding $50,000 and personal estate to $600,000. The private property of shareholders was liable to seizure for debt
and provisions of Chapter 38 of the Revised Statutes did not apply to this body. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
