Joint Comm. on Railways and Canals. Act to incorporate the West Stockbridge Rail-road Corporation, 1836

Senate No. 58 On March 17, 1836, the Joint Committee on Railways and Canals reported a bill: An Act to incorporate the West Stockbridge Railroad
Corporation, 1836. Three men and their associates were incorporated as above, abiding by Chapters 39 and 44 in the Revised Statutes. The corporation
could lay out and construct a railroad from West Stockbridge to the turnpike to Albany, with capital stock at $75,000 in $100 shares. The corporation
had to be organized by December 1, 1837 and have the railroad completed by December 1, 1838. The road had to be constructed to connect easily with
other railroads. The Western Railroad could purchase this line anytime before December 1, 1839. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally

The Joint Committee on Railways and Canals, to whom were committed the petition of Henry B. Boynton and others, for a rail-road from West Stockbridge, to the line of the state of New York, and the petition of Robbins Kellogg and others, in aid of said petition, have considered the subject, and ask leave to report a bill.
