SEE ALSO 52850 An Act in addition to the thirty-ninth chapter of the Revised Statutes of turnpike, railroad, and canal corporations, 1836. The legislature may not amend a corporate charter so as to drive profits below 10%. The Legislature may not repeal any charter unless there has been a violation of the rules. Annual corporate reports had to contain the listed categories of information. If a train could keep its schedule for some reason, the company had to make a good faith effort to provide an alternative mode of transport, e.g. stagecoach.
