Senate No. 53 On March 9, 1836, the Committee on Banks and Banking submitted a schedule of petitions for new banks and requests for a capital
increase in response to an order. There were thirty-four petitions for new banks and twenty-three requests for an increase in capital. (Digitized from a
microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
Title:   Ordered, that the Committee on Banks and Banking, be instructed to prepare, and cause to be printed for the use of the Legislature, a schedule of all petitions for new banks, stating the name of the first petitioner in each petition, the place where it is proposed to establish each bank, and the amount of capital asked for in each petition.
