Parker, Amendment to bill on raising capital of the Boston and Lowell R.R. Corp., 1836
SEE ALSO 52830 Senate No. 29 An amendment by Mr. Parker in February 1836 to increase the capital of the Boston & Lowell Railroad Corporation. The
railroad directors had to submit the annual report under oath, the Legislature could look at the books at any time, and after twenty years, the state
could acquire the railroad. The company was obliged to never alter tolls so the profit fell below 10% per year. There is a second version, also
numbered Senate No. 29, but any difference is not apparent. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State
Library).
