Senate No. 21 The Committee on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance reported a bill on January 28, 1836. An Act to incorporate the Pacific Insurance
Company, 1836. Twenty men and their associates were incorporated as above to make maritime loans and provide marine insurance. The company was
subject to the usual statutes and regulations. It could hold real estate to a value of $50,000. It was capitalized at $200,000 with shares of $100 each.
It could commence business when it had gathered $100,000, but had to achieve full funding within three years. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of

Title:   The Committee on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance, to whom was committed the petition of W.W. Parrott and associates, to be incorporated as the Pacific Insurance Company in the city of Boston, report the accompanying bill.
