House. Comm. on Banks and Banking. Proposition to establish a bank in Massachusetts, 1836
Senate No. 15 Proposition for a bank to be established in Massachusetts with a capital of ten million, five million subscribed by the state and
borrowed in Europe on state scrip, bearing interest at 4%, redeemable in twenty years, and five million to be subscribed by individuals. The Committee
on Banking presented the calculations showing that the state could make $5,000,000 on the project if all the many assumptions proved true. The figures
were charted year by year to the glorious end. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
