House No. 70 An Act to establish the United Bank, 1835. A corporation named President, Directors, and Company of United Bank will exist until
October 1, 1851, with the usual rights and responsibilities of a bank. The Governor will name Commissioners to supervise the sale of $100 shares to
interested banks to put together a capital of $1,000,000, with a possible increase to $1,500,000. Only other banks could hold shares. The act gave
