House. Comm. on Inspection of Green Hides. Act to provide for inspection of hides and skins, 1835
SEE ALSO 52493 House No. 66 On March 6, 1835, three men were named as the Committee on the Inspection of Green Hides. An Act to provide for the
inspection of hides and skins, 1835. Citizens had to ask for an inspector to be hired, and the text of that person's oath was provided. Most of the
time, the inspector traveled to the slaughter area. He had to have scales and other equipment and was to examine and mark each hide. The act had
directions about how to value and stamp the hides. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
Title:   Ordered, that Messrs. Hewes of Lynnfield, Stockbridge of Hadley, and Wheeler of Bolton, be a committee to consider the expediency of passing a law for the inspection of green hides.
