House No. 64 On March 21, 1835, the Committee on Education responded to a petition requesting the Legislature make rules for the distribution to
schools of tax money collected by the towns. The petitioner thought Newbury was not doing a good job. The Committee declined to interfere in such a
local matter and did not think Newbury was doing anything wrong, so it gave the petitioner leave to withdraw his petition. (Digitized from a microfilm
