Rantoul. Order on names of bank stockholders, 1835
House No. 48 On March 4, 1835, Mr. Rantoul proposed an order. All banks and insurance companies were to send the names and addresses of
stockholders, directors, and other officers, the amount of stock owned by each, the amount of any personal liabilities, plus any salary or other compensation
paid to employees. [The purpose of this was not provided.] (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State
Library).
Title:   Ordered, that the officers of the several banks and insurance companies in the commonwealth, be directed, as speedily as may be, to make returns to the speaker of this House, or the president of the Senate, of the names and places of residence, of all the stockholders, directors and other officers in said institutions, at the date of the respective returns : the amount of stock owned, or in the names of the said directors and other officers, and the amount of their liabilities on loans from the respective companies to which the said directors and other officers may belong, together with the salaries or compensations, paid to all persons in the employment of the said companies.
