Senate No. 68 On April 1, 1835, the Committee on Matters in Probate and Chancery reported a bill: An Act to provide for the appointment of
trustees of banks in certain cases, 1835. If a banking company was coming to the end of its charter, the directors of the bank could appoint two or more
trustees who would function in the same manner as trustees of expiring insurance companies. If a bank had already expired, the Supreme Judicial Court
