Senate. Concurrence with the House Resolve on distribution of the Geological Survey, 1835
Senate No. 63 On February 25, 1835, the Committee on the Library was asked to decide how to distribute excess copies of certain state reports. On
March 21, 1835, the Committee reported that two titles had rather few copies that could be given to the Executive to distribute, but the 2nd edition of
the Geological Survey needed wider distribution. In a Resolve, the Committee listed forty-two U.S. institutions focused on the physical sciences
[all east of the Mississippi River], twenty-three similar institutions and individuals in Europe, and the remaining thirty-seven copies would stay with
the Executive to distribute when the need arose. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library)
Title:   The subject of distributing, by lot, the remaining copies of the Geological report, and of the state papers on nullification, and the resolve for that purpose, reported by a special committee of the House, are referred to the Committee on the Library.
