Senate. Comm. on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance. Act in addition to an act regulating pilotage in Boston Harbour, 1835
Senate No. 53 On March 14, 1835, the Committee on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance reported a bill: An Act in addition to ... an act to regulate
the pilotage for the harbour of Boston, 1835. The Governor was to appoint two men to be the Commissioners of Pilots for Boston harbor. The men would
grant commissions to pilots and warrants to apprentices and could discipline them as appropriate. The Commissioners could amend or write new
regulations. They had to be at work every day and keep careful records. All pilots had to post a $2,000 bond. Every three months, each pilot had to send
the Commissioners a list of vessels piloted and fees received. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State
