Senate. Comm. on Sheriffs Fees. Act for equalizing the fees of deputy sheriffs, 1835
Senate No. 42 Each year, the Sheriffs hadd to turn in a list of their deputies with the amount of fees received from each. If the total received
exceeded the lawful amount a Sheriff could receive, he had to return the overage to the deputies. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally

Title:   Ordered, that Messrs. Tufts, Robinson and Starkweather, be a committee to enquire and report on the expediency of repealing of modifying so much of the Act of 1830, chap. 110, as requires of sheriffs to demand and receive of their deputies, twenty five per cent on the amount of fees, for travel, service and levy of all writs, executions, and other precepts.
