Senate No. 31 On February 23, 1835, the Committee on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance reported a bill: An Act to incorporate the Boston & New York
Steamboat Company, 1835. Four men were incorporated as above to own and employ one or more steamboats to sail between New York and the southern
terminus of the Boston to Providence railroad. The company could hold real estate to a value of $25,000 and personal estate to a value of $150,000.
Shares would cost $100. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
