SEE ALSO 52629 House No. 75 On March 26, 1834, the Committee charged with examining the records of the trigonometrical survey sent a report:
There were four employees on the project, three quarters of the labor had been completed, but the engineer expects it will take two years to finish. The
astronomical survey only needed another year. The Committee had to get outside help to understand the documents, and it was suggested that the work
was not being done as efficiently as it could. The engineer threatened to resign, so the Committee stood down. Resolves: in relation to the
Trigonometrical Survey of the Commonwealth and making further appropriation for the same, 1834. The survey ought to be continued under the supervision of the
Governor. The engineer was to report monthly in language the legislators could understand. All the technical notes should be copied to the
Secretary of the Commonwealth. The appropriation was for $7500. There was a list of warrants drawn during the year. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
