Foster, Amendment to the bill in restraint of the use of ardent spirit, 1834

clause and insert: All laws respecting licenses for the sale of spiritous liquors were repealed. It would be lawful for 2/3 of a town's voting
population to prohibit the sale of ardent spirits by the drink entirely. There was a gaol term and fine for infractions. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
