SEE ALSO 52615, 52622 House No. 47 Mr. Foster's amendment to the bill on the use of ardent spirits: Strike out everything after the enacting clause and insert: All laws respecting licenses for the sale of spiritous liquors were repealed. It would be lawful for 2/3 of a town's voting population to prohibit the sale of ardent spirits by the drink entirely. There was a gaol term and fine for infractions.
