Joint Standing Comm. on the Militia. Act in further addition to the several acts for regulating the Militia, 1834

House No. 46 On February 15, 1834, the Joint Standing Committee on the Militia reported a bill: An Act in further addition to the several acts for
regulating, governing, and training the militia of this Commonwealth, 1834. [There is some sort of distinction between volunteer corps and standing
companies.] The only duty of standing companies is to exhibit their arms and equipment on the first Tuesday of May. Once the law takes effect,
members of the volunteer corps had six months to notify their commanding officer they intended to quit. The usual duties for the volunteer corps remained
and members could follow the procedure to be paid. If there were too few remaining troops, their officers did not have to attend the review. One
