House. Act to encourage by bounty the destruction of crows, 1834
House No. 38 A three man Special Committee submitted a bill: An Act to encourage by bounty the destruction of crows, 1834. 25c was offered for the
body of an old dead crow and 12 1/2c for a young crow. The Treasurer of the local jurisdiction was to cut the bill and eyes off each crow to prove
its demise, and pay the bounty out of local funds. Periodically, the accounts and heads were shown to the selectmen to prove the records and then there
was a crow bill burning party. There were directions for the submission of records to the Secretary of State for repayment. (Digitized from a
microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
