House No. 23 On January 10, 1834, three men were declared a committee to consider a 2d edition of Prof. Hitchcock's Geological Survey of the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Professor was anxious to correct errors and add material, but had no financial interest in the volume. The printer
estimated it would cost $2.50/book to print and would sell them for $5.00 to $5.50 each. The Committee was much in favor of proceeding. (Digitized from a

Ordered, that Messrs. Thayer, of Braintree, Minns, of Boston, and Day, of W. Springfield, be a committee to consider the expediency of printing a second edition of Professor Hitchcock's Geological survey of the commonwealth of Massachusetts, with atlas accompanying, with leave to report by bill or otherwise.
