Senate. Comm. on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance. Act to incorporate the South Wharf Corporation, 1834
Senate No. 59 On March 12, 1834, the Committee on Mercantile Affairs and Insurance reported a bill: An Act to incorporate the South Wharf
Corporation in the City of Boston, 1834. Two men and their associates were created a body corporate as the South Wharf Corporation to hold real estate to a
value of $300,000 and personal estate to a value of $30,000. The bill defined the property area; the group could build wharves and warehouses, fill
land, but had to amicably settle all land titles and could not impede the flow of water. The usual corporate organization applied and the charter was
good for 30 years. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library)..
