SEE ALSO 52568, 52575 Senate No. 57 On January 15, 1834, the Committee on Matters of Probate and Chancery was directed to consider making further provisions for bonding guardians who were authorized to sell real estate for their wards. On March 12, 1834, the Committee reported a bill: An Act in addition to an act to regulate the jurisdiction and proceedings of the Court of Probate, 1834. Such courts may authorize the sale of real estate when everyone concerned has been notified and had their say. The guardian had to give a bond to the judge that appointed him. The judge had to approve any sale where a lesser sale price than hoped for had to be accepted. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
