Senate No. 46 On March 1, 1834 in response to a petition, the Committee on Education reported a bill: An Act to incorporate the Wilberforce
Manufacturing and Manual Labor School Company, 1834. Ten men formed a corporation to manufacture goods of leather, iron, and other metals and to partner
with the Manual Labor School. The organization could hold $20,000 worth of real estate and $30,000 worth of personal estate. The School would teach
literature, mathematics, and physical sciences linked to the useful arts and would be a work/study program. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
