Senate. Comm. on the Judiciary. Act authorizing sheriffs to administer oaths, 1834
Senate No. 36 On February 12, 1834, the Committee on the Judiciary was asked to consider whether sheriffs could administer oaths for juries they

For juries empaneled to hear property damage cases, the person appointed by the court to hear the case was authorized to administer oaths or
affirmations to those jurors. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
