Senate. Comm. on Education. Act in addition to an act on the Harvard College Board of Overseers, 1834
Senate No. 33 On January 31, 1834, the Committee on Education was asked to consider whether ministers of other than the Congregational Church could
be on the Board of Overseers for Harvard. An Act in addition to an act to alter and amend the Constitution of the Board of Overseers of Harvard
College, 1834. When a vacancy occurred on the Board, any minister of a church of Christ could be elected and remain as long as he lived in the
Commonwealth. The Board of Overseers, the President, and the Fellows of Harvard College had to agree to this before it could be law. (Digitized from a

Title:   Ordered, that the Committee on Education inquire into the expediency of providing by law, that ministers other than "ministers of Congregational Churches," may be elected to the Board of Overseers of Harvard College.
