House. Select Comm. on Ardent Spirits. Report, 1833
|
|
House No. 13 On January 12, 1833, a five man committee was directed to consider the portion of the Governor's message about ardent spirits. The committee's report was submitted on January 22, 1833. Apparently, various temperance societies had been making a lot of noise. The committee acknowledged that the liquor trade was a problem, but suggested that a Commission should study the problem and report back; there was not enough good data to guide legislation. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
