House No. 9 On January 26, 1832 the question was presented: Should the Constitution be amended so the number of Representatives would be between 350
and 400? An Amendment was offered that said each jurisdiction presently entitled to one representative would elect one representative and presented
a formula for additional members. There was then a list of towns entitled to two or more representatives under that formula. Adding those to all the
jurisdictions with one member, the total would be 360. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State
