Senate No. 55 Report of the Special Joint Committee on so much of the Governor's address as relates to the resolution of Tennessee [and Georgia] on the subject of internal improvements under authority of the General Government. Boston : Dutton & Wentworth, 1833. Five Representatives and four Senators began deliberating on January 16, 1833. On March 30, 1833, they submitted a report. The subject had been treated before. The Committee thought Congress' selection of projects to support ultimately helped everyone. On p. 14, Resolved: The government of the United States is invested by the Constitution with the power to appropriate money for internal improvements in the several states and would the Governor please transmit this to Georgia, Tennessee, and Maine.
