Senate. Act to incorporate the East Boston Company, 1833
Senate No. 48 An Act to incorporate the East Boston Company, in the City of Boston, 1833. Three men and their associates were made a body corporate
with the usual rights and responsibilities to improve Noddle's Island. The Company could buy land on the island and its surrounding flats to manage
at its will and pleasure. The Company was not to exceed a value of $500,000. It had to work with the City to designate a central area of about four
acres for engine and school houses and other public buildings and spaces. It could not obstruct any exiting ferries or bridges. (Digitized from a
