Senate. Act further regulating gunpowder in the city of Boston, 1833
Senate No. 38 An Act further regulating the storage, safe keeping, and transportation of gunpowder in the City of Boston, 1833. No person, unless
on military duty, could possess or move more than one pound of gunpowder anywhere in the city or at sea within 200 yards of shore. Any gunpowder
seller had to be licensed. If an unlicensed seller was discovered, there was a fine; if gunpowder belonging to an unlicensed seller exploded, the fine was
much higher. City engineers could inspect premises for gunpowder. The law would take effect on passage. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
