Senate No. 21 In January of 1833, the Committee on Probate and Chancery, in response to a request, submitted a bill. An Act in addition to the
several acts to regulate the jurisdiction and proceedings of the Courts of Probate, 1833. If a resident of the Commonwealth died intestate and without
relatives, the Court could appoint a Special Consul to handle the estate, but, failing that, the Judge could appoint any suitable person. (Digitized

Title:   Ordered, that the Committee on matters of Probate and Chancery, be instructed to inquire into the expediency of making further provision by law for granting administration in the case of aliens dying intestate, and leaving estate within the jurisdiction of this Commonwealth.
