General Court. Resolve to amend the Art. 3 of the Mass. Bill of Rights, 1833

Senate No. 13 The Amendment to Article three of the Bill of Rights, held from the 1832 session, was to remove any compulsion to contribute to
religious instruction or to have a state church. The House passed it again on January 7, 1833. A Senate committee sent a report indicating displeasure
with the way the amendment was framed, but still felt it should be passed. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
